Sausage and Peppers in the Crock Pot

Our house-made Italian sausages really shine in this simple recipe. Everything can get thrown into the crock pot in the morning and by the afternoon it’s ready to go. All you need are some good, crusty buns to soak up the tangy sauce.  
serves 6 to 8

Ingredients

10-12 Outpost’s Own Italian Sausages
2 green peppers, cut into strips
2 onions, cut into strips
3 cloves garlic, minced
6 ounces tomato paste
28 ounces tomato sauce
1 bottle of beer (a Pilsner works best)
Salt and pepper to taste

Directions

1. Combine all the ingredients, except the sausage, in your crock pot and stir until the tomato paste has dissolved and all the veggies and sauce are combined.
2. Place the sausages into the liquid (you can brown them first in a skillet if you so desire). Set the crock pot on low for six hours or high for four hours.
3. Place sausage in a fresh roll and top with peppers and onions. Mangia!
