Why do you want to be on the Outpost Natural Foods Board of Directors?

I am a proud Bay View Outpost member and would like to use my public administration and budgeting skills to be part of the continued success of a business so rooted in the Milwaukee, Mequon, and Wauwatosa communities.

What professional skills do you bring to a Board position of a $50 million business?

I bring a wide range of skills that lend themselves to the work of the Outpost Board. My education includes a Bachelor of Politics from Whitman College and a Master of Public Administration from The Evergreen State College. I have held leadership positions in non-profits and served in policy advocacy, fundraising, and event management roles. I have built and monitored budgets in the $56 million range. I have a Green Belt in Lean/ Six Sigma process improvement. I bring soft skills that include change management and communication across diverse stakeholders and policymakers. Importantly, I strive to create a culture of inclusion in my work and home.

Describe your prior involvement with community organizations and/or cooperatives.

I moved to Milwaukee a couple of years ago and this position would be my first deep investment in this community, beyond public service in my nonpartisan research position at the Wisconsin Policy Forum. I have an educational foundation in cooperatives and their value to local communities. I am also a member of Bel Canto, a Milwaukee community choir.
