Why do body care products have to contain so many chemicals? That’s what former high school science teacher Kyle LaFond asked when he couldn’t help but notice the overpowering scent of personal care products in the hallways of his school.

“I have a strong science background and recognize that many personal care products contain unnecessary fillers, accelerators, preservatives, and chemicals that really have no place in these items,” Kyle said.

Kyle wanted to make something different, so he started making deodorants. After spending a couple of years of honing his recipes, he gave some of his products to friends as holiday presents.

“Almost every person that I had given gifts to reached out to me to encourage me to pursue natural products as a profession,” Kyle said.

So, he launched American Provenance, a line of personal care products that don’t contain the artificial ingredients that conventional products do. American Provenance products are clean, simple, use minimal ingredients, and aren’t laden with artificial ingredients.

“If you can’t read, pronounce, or understand why something is in a product you use, you probably shouldn’t be using it at all,” Kyle said.
